  • 4 potatoes mid-size, boiled, peeled and mashed
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder

  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves
  • salt as required
  • 1/2 tsp ginger powder or 1/2 tsp finely chopped ginger
  • 1/2 tsp dry amchur powder
  • 4 to 5 tbsp Rice Flour

Other Ingredients that we need –

  • 3 to 4 tbsp oil or add as required
  • Green Chutney as required
  • 1/2 cup Curd – whisked
  • Tamarind Chutney as required
  • chaat masala as required
  • black salt as required

How to Make Aloo Tikki Recipe or Aloo Chaat Banane ki Recipe?

The method of making Aloo Chaat goes through the following three steps –

Making Aloo Tikki Mixture

  • In the start we need to Wash potatoes & place in a 2-lit cooktop pressure cooker. Also, add half a teaspoon of salt. Add sufficient water to just about cover the potatoes.
  • Pressure boil for 4 to 5 whistles over low heat until potatoes are soft, fork-tender, & mashable.
  • Now open the lid. Drain all of the water and set the potatoes aside on a platter to cool.
  • Once the potatoes are heated, peel and mash well. Allow the mashed potatoes to cool fully.
  • Now we need to add ginger, turmeric, cumin, Kashmiri red chilli powder, chaat masala, & dried mango powder.
  • And now Add 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves & salt to taste.
  • Combine 4 to 5 tsp rice flour. Mix thoroughly.
  • Now you need to Check the flavour & add additional chaat masala, red chilli powder, dry amchur powder or salt as needed.
  • Make medium-sized balls from the aloo tikki mixture. Shape or flatten them into patties or tikkis.

Frying Potato Tikki

  • Heat one to two tbsp of oil in a frying pan, skillet, or tawa. After setting the heat to medium, put the aloo tikkis on the pan or tawa.
  • Fry the aloo tikkis starting now. Turn each tikki over and fry the other side till brown and crisp.
  • When the second side is crisp and golden, turn the tikkis over once more.
  • Fry until all of the alu tikkis are uniformly brown and crisp, flipping one or twice more.
  • After removing the aloo tikki, spread them out on kitchen paper towels. Add 1.5 to 2 teaspoons of oil to the next batch and fry it in a similar manner.

Assembling and Making Crispy Aloo Tikki Chaat

  • Measure out ½ cup of fresh curd and whisk it smooth in a bowl.
  • In each bowl or serving dish, place two to three aloo tikkis.
  • When you begin to assemble the aloo tikkis, they must be hot. When necessary, pour some curd. Next, pour some green chutney over it. Add as necessary. Apply a little sweet tamarind chutney now. Add as necessary.
  • Apply one to two pinches of black salt and two to three pinches of chaat masala evenly. Add some sev, chopped onions, and chopped coriander leaves at this point. Serve the aloo tikki chaat right away.
